cpu showdown

Intel. AMD. We've got um all.

cpu showdown

Postby nagasama » Sun Oct 15, 2006 7:25 pm

i have a question someone help please!

two cpu choices:
the low-end (relatively speaking) intel core 2 duo 6300

vs

high end amd 64 x2 4600+ OR 5000+

which to chose? i know rule of thumb, intel c2d < amd x2, but we're not comparing oranges to oranges in terms of quality and level on the food chain...if it were an intel 66-6700, no question. but the price of these three cpu are all in the same bracket.
i will be doing the usual with the system (email, web), and also want a system that is an excellent gaming platform.

any input on this?
thanks in advance!

I would go with the Core 2 Duo not because of Intel owning AMD. But your motherboard selection is way better then AMD's. And then if you ever want to upgrade in the future it will be easier with the Intel Core 2 Duo.
